I'm thrilled to announce that I'm the winner of this year's UnCaged Toy Piano Call for Scores! I'll be working with Phyllis Chen to create a new piece for toy piano, aeolian harp/plastorgan hybrid, and electric fans. I'm beyond thrilled to announce that one of the many projects I've been working on this summer is getting its world premiere performance at the 2013 Color Field Festival this September in Madison, WI! I've created a new version of "Out of Conte#t", my commission from WIRED magazine's The Connective issue, for live performers and audience interaction. The performance will be held on September 7th on the Madison Capital Square at noon.
The CF Festival is one of the best festivals to keep your eyes on, and the awesome minds behind the Color Field Ensemble are constantly blowing my mind with the ambitious projects and talented ensembles they program each year. I'm excited to bring this piece to life for a live, interactive audience and to be a part of this group of musical giants. Stay tuned to the festival website for more info on the piece an the performance in the near future.
Good news! A few weeks ago, I was selected by the editors of WIRED Magazine to contribute a new, interactive installation element to their 48-hour crowd sourced issue, "The Connective." I'm happy to announce that the issue is now out, and my piece, "Out of Conte#t" is available to experience for yourself! All you need is a tablet device in order to download the free issue inside of WIRED's app, and you're good to go!
